Phoolwari: A small start was made to ensure that the children of labourers working at the Ashiana site were safely away from the construction site. Today, Ashiana Phoolwaris' have colourful 'palnas' for the babies, smart uniforms for the older ones, milk and food, hygiene lessons, computer education and dedicated staff. The focus for the future is on better teaching and improved syllabus. It has been set up in Bhiwadi & Jaipur. Also, Govt. Upper Primary School at Thada Village Bhiwadi was undertaken with a motive to educate children of Thada Village and near by villages in association with CEE' Centre forEnvironment Education' for Govt. Upper Primary School.
Ashiana Housing Limited which is synonymous with exploring uncharted areas had visualized the need of skill training in 2006 and started a training institute to train the unskilled to semi skilled and semi skilled to skilled.The Company till date has trained 1080 unskilled labors to semi skilled/skilled.
A sizable number of women laborer works at construction sites but they are employed only for side working or as a helper. We have started skill trainingfor women laborer as well, to give equal opportunity to women laborer for better employability and better wage earning. The company also sponsors a monthly Panchayati Raj Training Programme for Elected Women Representatives under the aegis of KiranBedi'sNavjyoti Foundation. This is an initiative to empower women by training them in leadership skills and effective implementation of local governance.
On the environmental front too, Ashiana believes strongly that the company must contribute to compensate nature. From its very inception, Ashiana has followed ecologically sound practices like extensive Tree Plantation, Saving water & electricity, Proper garbage disposal system etc.. This year Ashiana has organized Go Green walk cum plantation event with BalBharti Public School for the noble cause of conserving environment. Around 1000 local residents and School Children joined the programme.
Ashiana does various activities apart from the development within its vicinity. Like community facility at Jaipur was established for the use of local people, provided Deep tube well at Village BalramBasti, Jamshedpur (Current strength of the village is 1000 approximately), Constructed Police Out Post at Jamshedpur, Temple modification was done at Tamolia Village, Jamshedpur and alsoconstructed Bath Shed at Tamolia Village.
In Keeping with the company's mind set, Ashiana employees have set up a ' Charity Box ', and every month, the collection is used to buy provisions for the underprivileged.
